Victorian huge coromandel writing slope mother-of-pearl inlay, fitted handles
Wonderfully ornate large Victorian coromandel writing slope with fitted interiors. The beautiful grain of the wood is enhanced by mother-of-pearl and abalone inlay to the lid and front panel. The box has flush fitting side handles that are mounted in scrolling brass plates. As the box is so large, it has multiple storage sections with the original dividers and three of the original lids.
The exterior of the box is truly lovely with the rich warm patina and the swirling grain of the coromandel.

Very good antique condition. Several surface cracks to veneer; on reverse of the lid small chips to wood near the right hinge; two thin long cracks to lid.
Interior condition
Writing panel requires restoration; brass part of left hand side missing; some general wear to the storage compartments including a small chip to the top of one divider.
