1810’s Chetham and Woolley Georgian blue jasperware cider jug featuring putti
Beautiful blue jasperware cider jug made by Chetham and Woolley who began producing semi transparent stoneware in their Longton factory from 1793 to 1821. Classical relief-moulded scenes to the baluster body with lathe turned borders on either side. Both the thumb piece and pouring lip are decorated with acanthus leaves.
Wonderfully crisp bas relief sprigged design featuring frolicking putti riding dogs, a sheep-pulled carriage and a goat-pulled sleigh with a brazier inside.
Made by Chetham & Woolley, Staffordshire, c. 1810's.

Very good antique condition. Crazing and hairline cracks to base; tiny hairline cracks to the sprigging in one place; fleabite to the rim of the lower border.
