William IV large rosewood jewellery box of sarcophagus shape with two turned wood handles to the sides. The front and the lid are decorated with brass fretwork in a scrolling pattern. The centre of the lid has beautiful mother-of-pearl and abalone marquetry depicting an urn vase with a flower bouquet; a similar design is repeated at the key escutcheon.

Good antique condition. The box originally had feet; two large cracks to base; some chips and small losses to veneer, mostly round the corners; small dent to the brass vase on lid; small losses to nacre near the keyhole; general wear inside.
