FAQs

Everything you wanted to know, and a few things you didn't.

Where do you unearth these wonderful items?

75% of our items come from small, UK-based auctions, 20% from international auctions, and an exciting 5% are rare charity and vintage store finds.

Unfortunately, auction houses can rarely devote the proper time and attention that every item they sell deserves. We, on the other hand, pride ourselves on offering customers items that have been polished, fully researched and ready to use.

I have something I want to sell, let's talk.

Let's! We're always on the lookout for new items, and if you have something at home that's been gathering dust since Charles and Diana's wedding, we'd be very happy to take a look.

Send a short description of the piece and a picture or two to info@ritasbazaar.co.uk, and we'll either dispatch our team of hedgehogs to collect it, or let you down gently and advise you gift it to your upstairs, clog-wearing neighbour.

Please bear in mind we're not a professional auction house and can't give you a Christie's-style estimate — we can only tell you if we think it has value to us, and how much we'd offer to take it off your hands.

I'm looking for something but can't find it here, can you help?

We'd love nothing more. We're constantly buying at international auctions, smaller local ones, and vintage shops, and it sometimes feels like we've seen just about everything.

Whether you're after a specific piece of jewellery that came to you in a dream, or you have a budget and a general idea in mind, send us an email at info@ritasbazaar.co.uk and we'll start the hunt.

Can I reserve an item or pay in instalments?

Yes — for pieces above a certain value, we're happy to arrange a short hold while you make up your mind. Just drop us a line at info@ritasbazaar.co.uk with the item you have in mind, and we'll sort out the details together.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! UK delivery is free, and we ship to Europe and the rest of the world on a weight-based basis. Full details live on our Shipping & Returns page.

How do I know what condition a piece is in before I buy?

Every listing includes a condition note alongside the full description — we're upfront about wear, repairs, and age-appropriate imperfections, because that's part of an antique's story. If anything isn't clear, just ask before you buy.

Do your pieces come with any provenance or paperwork?

Where we have it, we share it — history, maker's marks, hallmarks, or any documented background is noted in the listing. Many antique pieces simply don't come with formal paperwork, which is true of the trade as a whole, but we'll always tell you what we know.

Can I view a piece in person before buying?

We don't have a showroom, but we always try to accommodate where we can. If you'd like to see a piece in person before buying, email info@ritasbazaar.co.uk and we'll see what we can arrange.
