About this piece

Child-sized jewellery from the 1930's doesn't turn up nearly as often as its adult counterpart, largely for the obvious reason — small wrists don't stay small, and pieces this scaled-down tend to get outgrown, lost, or handed down until they simply disappear. This one's survived intact, sterling silver with a proper buckle clasp styled to mimic a leather strap in miniature, right down to a working prong.

The engine-turned etching across the surface is a genuinely period-accurate Art Deco detail — a mechanical engraving technique that produces those fine, repeating linear patterns, popular through the 1920's and 30's for exactly the kind of geometric precision the style demanded. It's a small, functional piece rather than a display object, built to be worn on an actual child's wrist rather than admired from a distance.

Condition notes
