Beautiful Victorian burr walnut box. Rectangular body with a flat hinged lid and ebony trim to the interior; the interior of the base and the lid are lined with reddish velvet.
The walnut has wonderful figured and burl grain and lovely warm patina. Highly decorative and functional piece that is a great size to store jewellery or sewing accessories.

Very good antique condition. Wear to the interior appropriate to age and use; some scratches and deep nicks to the veneer; small chip to front of lid; small chips along the edge above the lock; crack and tiny chips to veneer along the right side.
