This twin-handled vase is the third piece in a matching set alongside the two Islamic-style ewers, sharing the same polychrome cloisonné arabesque decoration across a gilt ground, the dense, repeating geometric pattern Islamic decorative art has relied on for centuries before European Orientalist fashion picked it up in the 1800's. The vase form gives the pattern more surface to work across than either ewer, wrapping the arabesque scrollwork around a fuller baluster body between the two handles.
The piece carries the same moulded WS&S mark as its companions, with its own impressed shape number, 2436, setting it apart within the group. Dated to the 1890's, the set as a whole reflects the range Bohemian potteries were working in during this period, producing decorative ware across borrowed international styles, Islamic, Japanese, Mannerist, often within a single factory's output across just a few years.

Good antique condition. Some wear to cloisonné and markings on base; chips on base, handle and rim, repair to second handle.
