Mid-Victorian sterling silver 3 piece Christening set, Chawner & Co

Superb mid-Victorian sterling silver Christening set comprising a dessert fork, knife and spoon. The cutlery is sumptuously decorated with a high-relief twisted rope design in a looping pattern and accented with beaded detailing.

The pieces are free from any monograms or initials and have vacant cartouches for personalised engraving.

Fantastic set from one of the foremost silversmiths of the period.

Made by Chawner & Co (George William Adams) and fully hallmarked for London, 1864.
