WMF built a real reputation across Europe for pairing cut glass with finely worked silver plated mounts, a combination the firm produced at real scale during its Jugendstil period, when German Art Nouveau design was in full swing. This five-piece set brings together a large serving tazza with four matching individual dessert bowls, each glass bowl resting on a stand with a fluted, stepped base.
The stems and bases are trimmed with high-relief wheatsheaf borders, a recurring motif in WMF's output from this period, and the cut-glass bowls themselves carry a roundlet pattern around their edges, giving the glass its own decorative language rather than leaving it plain beneath the metalwork. The set is stamped with WMF's running ostrich mark inside a rhombus, alongside the WMF/G inscription (Geislingen an der Steige, the firm's home town), a mark style specifically used between 1910 and 1925.

Condition notes
Very good antique condition. Some light scuffing to metal commensurate with age; one small bowl has an internal crack near the base of the glass; another small bowl has a tiny chip to rim.
