A striking little Hadley’s Worcester faience jardinière, made when English art pottery was having one of its more decorative moments.

This sculptural cachepot has moulded Art Nouveau panels framed in deep teal blue relief, with peach and ochre architectural detailing giving it a rather grand miniature presence. Each panel contains a soft sepia floral spray, hand-painted against a shaded ground.

The shaped feet and raised borders give the piece a strong, architectural silhouette — refined enough for a cabinet, but bold enough not to disappear in a room.

Marked to the base:
Hadley’s Worcester England Faience
Pattern 197/2

A wonderful piece for collectors of Hadley’s Worcester, Royal Worcester, Victorian English art pottery, Art Nouveau ceramics, or anyone who believes a plant pot should have more personality than the plant.
