This pair, marked LP to the base and produced in Limoges bisque, follows that lead: a young couple dressed in detailed, colourful period costume, both wearing expressions that read as pensive rather than posed, almost mournful, which is an unusual choice for what's otherwise a fairly conventional decorative subject.
