Frederick Rhead designed a considerable range of patterns across his career, moving through several English potteries before landing at Wood & Sons, and "Sheraton" is one of the results: a chinoiserie blossom tree worked in polychrome against a black ground, the kind of dramatic colour contrast that makes the pattern instantly recognisable even at a distance. This pair carries the design across simple cylindrical bodies, keeping the shape restrained so the pattern stays the clear focus.
The colour palette runs rich, pink, orange, lilac, and blue all appearing against that black ground, a combination bold enough that it wouldn't have suited every Edwardian interior, though it's exactly the kind of confident chinoiserie revival that was fashionable in the 1910's.

Good antique condition. Crazing commensurate with age; nibbles and fleabites to the base of one vase; the other vase has a chip to rim that has been over painted.
