This pair of Danish silver dessert spoons carries a dense foliate design across the terminals, leaves, flowers and scrollwork worked together, with a vacant cartouche left blank at the centre of each. That's a common feature on silverware of this kind, left open for a monogram or inscription to be added later, which makes a pair like this a natural choice for personalising as a gift.
Danish silversmiths of this period had a real eye for detail work like this, packing genuine texture into a small terminal without the design ever feeling cramped. They're marked by A. Halberstadt Eftf. and assayed by Simon Groth in Copenhagen, 1901.
