First half 20th century ornate double brush pot hand-carved from mottled yellow and black soapstone. Depicting a bird pecking at fruit that is being held by a monkey.

Dating to the Chinese Republic period.

Good antique condition. Sideways chip to the reverse; some minor nicks and chips commensurate with age; one pot has small chips to rim; surface crack to body and small hole inside.
