Bar brooches were a Belle Époque staple, worn horizontally across a lapel or blouse front, and this one leans fully into the period's taste for delicate, symmetrical goldwork punctuated by stones rather than dominated by them. Twelve Old European cut diamonds, estimated at H/I colour and VS2 clarity, sit collet-set along the bar, alternating with five cultured pearls — a central white pearl flanked by two pale blue and two lavender rose pearls, giving the piece a soft gradient of colour rather than a single uniform tone.
The pearls are a later addition — added after the brooch's original construction, which is common enough for pieces of this type. The diamonds are unchanged from the original design: they catch light readily even under ordinary indoor conditions, and the 14ct gold and silver mount carries a restrained, linear design that predates the pearls by however many years separate the two additions.

Condition notes
Excellent condition with no visible flaws to pearls and diamonds to naked eye. The pearls are a later addition to the brooch; pin a bit uneven; under 10x magnification one of the rose pearls has light surface wear to nacre.
