Art Deco gilt sterling silver cigarette case. Square form with bevelled sides and canted corners. The body is decorated all over with an engine-turned design.
This would also make a great card case, due to its slim proportions and compact size.
The case has an inscription from the retailer, the Searle & Co. store in London’s Royal Exchange. Established in 1893, Searle & Co. sold luxury silverware and jewellery for almost 125 years.
Made by S J Rose & Son and fully hallmarked for London, 1940.
