A beautifully detailed silver-plated table basket by Roman Plewkiewicz & Co, Warsaw, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. The finely cast openwork mount is decorated in the Louis XVI style, with ribbon-tied floral and fruit swags framed by pierced trellis panels. Four scrolling rocaille feet and a beaded swing handle complete the design, blending Rococo Revival exuberance with Neoclassical elegance.

The removable liner, made from vivid sapphire blue glass with a scalloped rim, adds a striking contrast to the silvered frame. Whether displayed as a table centrepiece, used as a bonbon or bread basket, or enjoyed simply as a decorative object, this piece is a fine example of late Belle Époque craftsmanship and design.

12 cm deep (4.72″)
9.5 cm tall to rim (3.74″)

Good antique condition. Some light surface wear to the silver plating consistent with age and use. The sapphire blue glass liner has a long stable crack with small chips at either end. The basket has a slight wobble when placed on a flat surface but remains stable when displayed. Presents beautifully.
