Vintage silver plated oval gallery serving tray on bird claw feet, in Louis XV style
Exquisite silver plated two-handled gallery serving tray in Louis XV style. Large in size, measuring 46 cm from handle to handle.
Oval body is raised on four cast feet in the form of bird claws clutching spherical supports. The body is trimmed with an ornate pierced openwork border that has a gadrooned edge on top and base and is slightly fluted along the top rim. The two handles are inbuilt into the gallery border.
The serving area is sumptuously chased with scrolls, leaves and other foliage that are interspersed with quilted medallions.
There is a vacant cartouche to the centre of the tray for personalised engraving.
Very impressive and highly decorated tray that is the perfect size to serve afternoon tea.
