Huge vintage Asian lacquerware fluted tray inlaid with mother-of-pearl flowers, dragons, birds and butterflies
Wonderful huge Asian lacquerware tray of oval fluted body with raised edges. Deep red centre painted with a lake and reeds, trimmed with a black border. The tray is beautifully inlaid with mother-of-pearl and abalone depicting a large flowering tree in the centre, surrounded by birds and butterflies. The border depicts dragons on each side and an ornate scrolling and foliate design at both ends. Very impressive and highly decorative piece that is light enough to be hanged as a wall plaque.
Made in the 1980's.
