Vintage Chinese buffalo horn libation cup with scholars and prunus
Large buffalo horn libation cup. Oval wide bowl resting on a sectional stem with a slightly splayed foot and applied scrolling handle. Carved in relief with a traditional dense design of Chinese scholar figures resting under flowering prunus trees. The edge of the cup is trimmed with a similar prunus design.
Beautiful and highly decorative piece that would make a great novelty vide poche.
