Victorian rosewood and mother-of-pearl storage lady’s workbox
Elegant Victorian lady's workbox veneered in rosewood and inlaid with mother-of-pearl to lid cartouche and key escutcheon. Rectangular body with a flat hinged cover. The interior of the lid is lined with red silk and the lower half was trimmed with green velvet at a later date.
Ornate grain to the wood and warm rich patina.
The cartouche is vacant, so this can be engraved as a present.
Made in England, c. 1880’s.

Very good antique condition. Some surface nicks and cracks to the exterior; tiny chip to nacre cartouche; wear to interior appropriate to age and use; the lid padding is unmatched to the lid.
