Exquisite antique Victorian 18ct yellow gold statement brooch in Etruscan Revival style. Centred with a huge oval faceted amethyst that is raised in an openwork foliate setting. The gold is etched and engraved with wriggle work borders and decorated with filigree cannetille rope-work and applied bead and leaf design in the form of berry plants.
Wonderful deep and rich purple hue to the gemstone.
