Spode "Peplow" bone china baluster sugar bowl with two scrolling handles and domed lid. Bright and multicoloured transfer design of Chinoiserie-inspired flowers that are trimmed with yellow borders.

Made in England, Stoke-on-Trent c. 1930's.

Spode's original "Peplow" pattern, transfer printed in blue, dates from the early 19th century. The design was revived as a polychrome transfer printed design for Harrods Department Store in London; registered design number 568948. It was yet again revived as pattern number R8542 with a yellow border in 1925.
