Large Edwardian sterling silver oval military beard / hairbrush with boar bristles

£35.00
Sold

Large Edwardian sterling silver military hairbrush. Oval concave body with boar bristles.

Originally the brush was made just like a standard hair brush with a handle but to save space, a handle-less version was designed, so army personnel could transport it more easily. Even the shortest hairstyles benefit from a high-quality brush and the military brush is ideal for those with short hair or buzz cuts. The natural boar bristles massage the scalp and distribute natural oils to keep hair looking shiny and healthy. Plus, the military brush makes a fantastic beard brush as well.

Made by Henry Matthews and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1911.

Good antique condition. Several dings and appropriate to age and use; some loss to bristles.
