Very large and impressive circular vanity box / dressing table pot with lead crystal body and heavy sterling silver lid. The lid is embossed in ornate Rococo-inspired style with scrolls, foliage and shells and trimmed with a beaded border; the interior is lined with a thin piece of black velvet.
The base is made by Atlantis Crystal, a Portuguese brand that has been making luxury crystal glassware since 1944.
The centre of the cover has a large vacant shield cartouche, so this jar can be engraved as a wonderful present!
Very large and decorative piece that can be used as a vide poche or candy box.
Made by Carr's of Sheffield and hallmarked for 1997.
