Wonderful Georgian style Sitzendorf porcelain figurine of a young peasant girl holding a tambourine, with a sheep lying at her feet. Resting on a round moulded base decorated with delicate floral bouquets, scrolls and gilt with a tree trunk support in the back. Rich polychrome enamelling with emerald green and pale yellow being the predominant colours. Idealised Regency revival attire with gilded accents, corset top with ruffled collars, headscarf and a beautiful skirt hand-painted with blue, purple and orange flowers.

I am also selling an accompaniment piece to this figurine – a young dandy gentleman in a similar outfit.

Made in Thuringia, Germany, c. 1920's.
