George III gilt sterling silver berry spoons, 1783
George III matching pair of large sterling silver dessert serving berry spoons with gold-washed bowls. The handles are ornately engraved with scrolls to reverse and flowers against a diamond background to the front. The bowls are trimmed with frilled edges and embossed with fruit.
Both spoons have vacant cartouches for personalised engraving.
Made by Charles Hougham and William Sumner I and fully hallmarked for London, 1783 and 1784.

Great antique condition. The Charles Hougham spoon has a small dent and tiny split along the lower left edge of the bowl, which makes the fluted design a bit uneven in that place.
