Antique French silver plate Sabatier Brochette meat vegetable skewer with Rococo standing lions top
Late 19th century French silver plated “brochette” skewer with a beautiful openwork top that depicts two standing lions facing away from each other and leaning on a pedestal vase. The vase is sprouting ornate shells, foliage and scrolls in sumptuous Rococo style.

Sabatier (founded in 1812), originates from a family of master cutlers from the XIX century who popularized the French chef's knife, and lived in the area of Thiers in France, also known as the French capital of cutlery.
