£330.00
Sold

Wonderful Vieux Paris (Old Paris) porcelain coffee set for one comprising a tall coffeepot and a demitasse cup with matching saucer. Ribbed design with alternating white porcelain and gilded vertical stripes. The coffeepot has an acorn finial to lid, moulded acanthus leaf decoration to handle and a figural spout. The cup handle is decorated with a ram's head to base and hand-painted with delicate flower garlands on the inside of the rim.

The sumptuous gold plating makes this a wonderful example of the Empire style.

This shape and gold/white palette were very popular at the turn of the 19th century; similar examples were produced by Royal Vienna as well as Sevres.

The underside of the coffeepot is signed in green "Feuillet"; this set was decorated by Jean-Pierre Feuillet (active 1814–1834).
