1830’s Old Paris porcelain large gilded milk jug / carafe, Jean-Pierre Feuillet
Splendid Vieux Paris (Old Paris) porcelain large milk jug / carafe. Round baluster form, resting on a stepped pedestal foot. Ribbed design with alternating white porcelain and gilded vertical stripes; the handle has applied moulded acanthus leaf decoration. Sumptuous gold plating makes this a wonderful example of the Empire style.
This shape and gold/white palette were very popular at the turn of the 19th century; similar examples were produced by Royal Vienna as well as Sevres.
This pitcher was decorated by Jean-Pierre Feuillet (active 1814–1834). The base is unmarked, but the jug came from the same estate collection as this coffee pot and these three plates.

13.5 cm tall to spout
14.5 cm spout to handle
12 cm across widest point
