Impressive large mid-Victorian sterling silver mustard pot and spoon condiment set. Drum-shaped round body with openwork pierced foliage design to the sides and a scrolling handle. Slightly domed cover is decorated with flowers and wriggle work borders and is surmounted with a pierced leaf thumbpiece. The lid is original and bears the same hallmarks as the pot. The pot has it's original ruby glass liner.

The large mustard spoon has an ornate fluted handle embossed with scrolls and shells in the "Prince Albert" pattern - a variation of King's that was very popular at the time, as Queen Victoria has married Albert several years prior.

Spoon made by Jacob Wintle, London in 1845; mustard by William Evans, London in 1865.
