Beautiful late Victorian sterling silver dressing table toilet box. Oblong body is embossed all over with Art Nouveau scrolls, flowers and foliage. The interior is gold-washed and the edges are trimmed with a fluted pie-crust border. The hinged domed lid is further decorated with a quilted design and has a vacant cartouche for personalised engraving.

Lovely example of Victorian style! The box is a good size to keep tobacco or snuff or just to be used as a decorative trinket.

Made by Matthew John Jessop and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1899.
