Minton first established the workshops of Minton and Hollins in 1845 to specialise in decorative tiles and architectural glazed ceramics. By the end of the 19th century the company became the most famed and prolific tile manufacturer - for most of the Victorian era their tiles were used in the Palace of Westminster, US Capitol, Victoria & Albert Museum and many other prestigious buildings.
