Georgian portrait silhouette miniature of a middle-aged gentleman, in profile to left.
Skillfully painted on card in black and shades of grey with highlights in Chinese white, this silhouette shows an elegant gentleman in traiditional Regency dress.
The silhouette is set in a traditional papier-mâché frame with an oval glass centre that is trimmed with gilded brass. The top of the frame has an ornate gilded hook in the shape of an acorn.
On the back, there is an inscription which reads:

Good antique condition. Wear to gilt; chips to frame edge; some crazing to frame.
