Antique Japanese polychrome fruitwood sake tray in Arts & Crafts style. Oval fluted body is painted and carved with water lilies on the edge; the centre of the salver features a whimsical scene of a mouse wrestling a frog.
Dating to the early 20th century, this tray was most likely retailed by Liberty of London, as it is very similar in design to many of the Japanese tables and other pieces imported by Arthur Liberty. Can be hung on the wall as a decorative plaque or used as a vide poche.
Made in Japan, 1900's.
