Early 19th century Meissen coffee cup and saucer set depicting birds of paradise. The polychrome central motif on the saucer and cup feature groups of various colourful exotic birds and surrounding the birds are an array of insects.
Both items feature a scalloped rim and a gilded decorative border.

Marked on the back with the Meissen mark of blue crossed swords.

saucer - 4 cm tall, 15 cm top diameter, 5 cm base diameter

Saucer in very good antique condition; some wear to gilt appropriate to age. Cup has been professionally restored.
