Cased vintage sterling silver 4 piece vanity dressing table set; mirror, brush, comb
Magnificent four piece sterling silver lady's dressing table set in its original presentation case. The vanity set comprises a hand mirror, a hairbrush, a clothes brush and a faux tortoiseshell comb. The larger pieces have elongated teardrop handles and are embossed and chased all over with an elaborate Art Nouveau design of scrolls, flowers, foliage and birds. Furthermore, the pieces are decorated with the Green Man mask - an architectural motif that originated in late Roman art from leaf masks used to represent gods and mythological figures.
The mirror is in excellent condition, with no damage to the glass, which is a common problem with items of this age.
Each piece has a large vacant cartouche for personalised engraving.
The black leather case that houses the set is embossed with gilt borders and lined with white satin and retains the original retail sticker from the 60's.
