Wonderful set of six late Victorian sterling silver demitasse coffee cups with yellow glazed Staffordshire porcelain liners. The porcelain cups are trimmed with frilled and gilded borders. The holders have pierced flowerhead, foliate, scroll and lattice design and similarly decorated handles in typical Art Nouveau fashion. The set comes in its original leather fitted case that is lined with purple velvet and cream silk.

Made by William Comyns & Sons and fully hallmarked for London, 1899.
