Art Deco Italian silver compact case with mirror & lipstick, Nardi Liberto, engraved scrolls
Exquisite 1930’s solid silver Italian compact case with its original mirror and lipstick holder. Hand engraved all over with sumptuous scrolling foliage and flowers. The compact latch doubles as a lipstick holder – pushing the square flower on the side of the compact opens it up and allows to take out the lipstick. There is a vacant section that can be used for your own cosmetics, pills or anything else you may want to carry on a night out.
Marked for 800 silver, and “27 FI” for Nardi Liberto, Florence (Firenze). The maker’s mark contains a “fascio”, dating this compact to 1934-1944.
