Victorian walnut work and jewellery box with carry handle and button-tufted silk interior
Elegant Victorian walnut combination work and jewellery box. Hinged cover with a flush-fitting brass carry handle and ebony edging. The fall front panel encloses a pull-out drawer with an elegant swan-neck handle and red silk lining.
The top tier has a removable tray with 9 sections and two removable lids - the other covered sections are for decoration purposes; the tray is lined with original gilded paper. The interior of the lid is lined with luxurious red button-tufted silk.
Beautiful patina and grain to the wood make this a functional, yet decorative piece of Victorian craftsmanship.

Very good antique condition. Some light crazing and surface cracks to exterior walnut; small chips along the edge of the base; two small chips to the front right corner of the lid - one on each side of the corner; wear to the upper tray and the paper-lined well underneath it appropriate to age.
