Shown is a peasant woman in 18th-century dress, spreading seeds with her right hand and holding her dress with her left hand to form a small seed pouch; accompanying her is a matching peasant man resting on a spade.
Both figurines impressed to the base with the signature of T. Schoop and marked with design number 7812 (lady) and 7813 (gentleman) ; additionally gentleman impressed with the number 2, and lady with number 6.
Made around 1892 - 1904 in Austria-Hungary.

Rare and special Art Nouveau style porcelain from the porcelain manufactory Bernard Bloch, known for its high quality.
Bernard Bloch was a pre-eminent entrepreneur in the field of ceramic industry and was one of the greatest Jugendstil ceramists in Austria-Hungary. He established the famous factory B. Bloch & Co. which participated in many exhibitions and was rewarded each time (for example, the Gold Medal at the Universal Exposition of St. Louis).
Theodore Schoop is a recognized world-class master designer. His works adorn the best museums in the world.
