Victorian sterling silver openwork bonbon basket. Oval elongated bowl with a serpentine edge is ornately pierced all over with a geometric cross design. The body is further decorated with embossed scrolls, flowers and foliage in typical Art Nouveau style of the period, and trimmed with a fluted border.
Wonderfully ornate trinket dish that would be a great vide poche for jewellery on a dressing table, or perhaps be used to serve sweets at teatime.
Made by Adie & Lovekin and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1896.

Very good antique condition. Few tiny splits along the border and tiny dings to base.
